Custody battle - pointless?

Talk about pointless storylines. And ruining a great character. Callie and AZ were always one of my favourite couples, and when AZ cheated it was awful, but I always had hope they'd get back together.

And then Callie pulled the custody crap so she could move across the country to be with someone she knew for a couple months. And the way she fought in court was so dirty. I was SO happy when AZ won, she deserved it and Callie got what SHE deserved too.

And then the very next episode AZ says just forget it let's have joint custody???! (Can't remember if it was the next episode for sure but it was pretty soon after). What was the point of all the custody episodes, gathering witnesses, the court episode, if it was all just gonna be thrown out the window the next episode?

Callie wanted off the show and no one gets a drama free exit.

Really? I didn't know Sara wanted out. Still though they should've just left AZ with custody then, would've made a lot more sense.

Shonda did not know until the season was over that Sara wanted out. It was always her intent of reuniting Calazona. She had AZ let Callie take her to NY, for the weekend and then wanted her back next week. Then Jessica got pregnant, and do they had her return from her leave saying she got back after seeing Sophia and her new school. So now she's living with Callie, and able to not worry about AZ having to be mother. Kids no longer seen any morw

Even though Arizona was the one that cheated, it really bugged me how Callie just walked out on their marriage at the end. She didn't even wait too long before she was ready to date again and didn't even feel bad that Arizona had seen her kissing someone else. Then the whole court case stuff the next season just really made me dislike Callie. She got everything her way though, walked out on the marriage, moved to NY and got Sophia to stay with her.

I'd be surprised if Sara Ramirez comes back, so unless Jessica Capshaw decides to leave and they have a Callie/Arizona reunion off screen, I can't see them getting back together. That court case was just nasty and it's amazing they were even civil to each other in the end.

The point was a vehicle to getting them back together by showing that even though Arizona won, she was the bigger person and allowed Callie to be with their daughter too. It wasn't pointless as Callie was trying to disregard Arizona's role in their daughter's life. Do you think if Callie was allowed to leave she would have been all cool about Sofia going to visit Arizona in Seattle? However, with Sara deciding to take a break, that idea went out the window.

If JCap decided to not re-up after her contract is up next season, and there is enough advanced notice, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sara come back. But, we shall have to wait to see what happens.
