Mer and Alex as a couple

Hear me out here. I think I'm in the minority in saying that I would really like to see Meredith and Alex at least give it a go as a couple - i.e. George and Izzie in seasons 3 and 4. If it were up to me, I'd pair off Jo and Deluca, Maggie and Riggs, and Mer and Alex so that everyone can have their happy ending.
Plus, I think it would make for a really interesting twist if Shonda sort of pulled the carpet out from under us for once: all the well-established couples actually don't make it and everyone moves on with other people.

Nooo. Too much of a little brother big sister thing going on. Plus I love them as friends. I can't stand it when shows couple everyone off in every possible iteration. It's rare when a guy and a girl stay friends for the entire length of a TV series.

Now, Jo and Deluca I could get on board with. Jo and Alex are just too similar. Alex needs a nice, normal, grounded woman who doesn't need saving and protecting for once. Someone who can be his equal, and push him to be better.

Shonda will ruin them if they put them together, I love their friendship too much. When the series ends, I could see them together for the last few episodes, maybe Meredith is at stages of Alzhiemers and he is there with her grown children and Christina comes back and they read through her journals to help her remember.....or if Shonda and PD makes peace, she has been in the home prior to his death and all of this is in her head and he is the one there everyday to remind her of who he is
