Leah was still working at the hospital on Cristina's last day and Maggie was already hired. They worked there at the same time. Leah made it seems like Maggie was hired after she left.

I haven't watched the last 2 1/2 seasons of Grey's; I used to be an obsessed avid viewer. But anyways I just caught the last few minutes of the most recent episode... Are Alex and Meredith together??!

No, but he is staying with her because he and Jo are not on speaking terms, at least not personally.

Leah had already been fired. Leah said to the the security guard she worked there "like two weeks ago" when he wouldn't let her into the ER. April told the security guard to let Leah through. April told Leah to help wherever and Leah said she didn't have privileges. April said just do whatever needed to be done. Leah didn't leave the ER, so she wouldn't have met Maggie.
