Is It True That Both Katherine Heigl And Patrick Dempsey Were.....

........'difficult' and/or 'temperamental' while they were still on the show ???

Katherine Heigl I had heard about, but Patrick Dempsey was news to me.

I don't really watch the show (I've seen a few of the earlier episodes), but when this question arose, I thought I'd try to find out from the people who would know, while it's still possible to do so on these boards.

Also wondering if there are/were any other (regular) cast members who might also fall into this particularly ignominious 'category'?

Anyone ??? 

I though Patrick got the boot because he cheated on his wife who was close friends with Ellen.

wow. People fall for internet gossip too easily. You don't know him or anyone there so you have no idea what happened on set or why he REALLY left.

I've read in a few places that Heigl had an overbearing mother-manager that caused problems.

Dempsey wanted off the show to have more time to pursue racing. For a couple of years before Derek was written out, he was saying in various interviews that he'd be finished with the show "soon."

Heigl has a reputation for being difficult to work with. Though as far as I know the Izzie character has not been killed off?

Think she also wanted to be a movie star.

Dempsey did want more time to race, but he must have rubbed Shonda the wrong way? Rumors of how he acted on the set, many an affair as well?

He was signed to do season 12 but was killed off in season 11.

I think the beginning of the end of Heigl was when she pulled herself out of the Emmy running and publicly said she did it because she didn't think the writers gave her good enough material to qualify for an Emmy.

She learned it like Megan Fox learned it, don't bite the hand that feeds you.

AHHHHH! That was scary!

I think Dempsey, like Eric Dane, found his character to be increasing irrelevant to the show. He's said in interviews that he stayed too long. That cheating rumor came and went too fast to be credible. Since he's backed away from racing and he and his wife seem to be stronger than ever now, I'd say that leaving Grey's was the healthiest thing he could do. I love his tv doctors commercial.
