The wardrobe in this movie...

Seriously, this kid was wearing more NYC paraphanelia in this movie that I have ever seen. The Strand, Dylan's Candy Bar, the Museum of Natural History, NYC Subway t-shirts all over the place. The scene where he and his dad are both wearing AMNH shirts and the one where one of his friends is wearing a NY jersey, the other wearing a NY tshirt. We GET IT- the movie was filmed in MANHATTAN. It's in the freaking' title. Anyone else notice? Once I saw it, I couldn't stop tallying every one. Also when the kid and his dad are playing football in the park, they are wearing different outfits when they are playing than when they are walking home. Sign of a bad wardrobe stylist (and script supervisor).

It wasn't a big budget film so they perhaps got sponsorship from some of these places if they advertised for them. I also thought it was a nice way to 'show off' some of the things New York has to offer. Most films set in the city usually show off dark, dirty alleys where bodies have been found so it was a good way to show that there is more to New York than that.

I agree,I really loved the History Museum shirt that Gabe wore. It actually made me want to go back and visit it, so it worked as a part of advertising and it was just a cute shirt.
