Is New York really that empty?

As i watched the film i was suprised at how empty the streets were. The City has a population of millions. I've never been to NY, but could someone tell me if it is really that quiet?

i've personally never been to new york
but i've been to chicago which is kinda the same except smaller and not so cool
and depending on where you go its not that uncommon for places to not have alot of people
and then other places its always packed
it just really depends

depends on the time of day or day of the week.....at least when I was in NY. I love NYC!!!!!

i live in new york city and yeah, it is that empty in the places where the movie was shot. the movie's set on the upper west side which is mostly where families live. you're probably imagining time square when you think of nyc but thank goodness not every street, neighborhood, and area in nyc is like time square. nyc has beautiful, beautiful parks like the ones you saw in the movie and yeah, it's just an awesome place to live.

it depends the area if your in an area with houses and buildings theres people but not a whole lot roaming around but in times square or other parts of manhatten is packed with people omg espically downtown
