Simply one of the best movies ever made

What about that scene where the boy 'sees' his girlfriend spinning and rising up into the air, as though made of helium? It was too cloying and contrived, and also was totally out of sync with the rest of the movie.

Weren't we as kids out of sync with the rest of the world?, it may have been a bit off, but I think that's a part of it. :)
