but uses an old ribbon typewriter to produce her bestsellers? Not heard of a PC?

They addressed that at the beginning with a shot of a newspaper article with a headline that read ‘Best selling author won’t use a laptop’ (or something like that). It was ridiculous though. She had no whiteout and made no mistakes. I’m a writer and I can’t imagine typing in this day and age. It actually helps your creativity by being able to save versions and not lose stuff that might work elsewhere.

I can tell you have little or no experience with creative writing or using an archaic typewriter because her slow typing can be explained simply by her concocting the words in her mind while she's typing with the slowness being compounded by the fact that she's using a typewriter, which makes it more difficult to go back and fix what she wrote.
