Is the film quality meant to be terrible?


I'm trying to make sure I watched the right movie.

Standard definition from a regular DV cam would have been more believable, especially since this takes place in 2001.

I'm surprised that more of these types of movies haven't been made by aspiring filmmakers. With reality TV shows becoming the norm and youtube viral videos hitting the net, these types of movies can often deliver more shocking violence than a large budget studio film. With the success of Paranormal Activity, Blair Witch, Cloverfield, and REC, I'm sure we'll get a mainstream film in the same light as August Underground soon enough.
