Stock 'Medium' lines...

Okay, I caught the last 2 seasons on DVD recently, and I was struck by how often I seemed to be hearing the same lines over and over : ) Perhaps we can put lines here that crop up on the show incessantly?

I heard this a lot:

JOE: Al, it's three o'clock in the morning!

Oh yes! Good one.

Those two are always acting like every dream Alison has is the FIRST such thing she's ever brought them!!! It's insane.

Lee and/or Devalos is always saying, "Okay, so you saw this (fill in the blank). That doesn't mean (fill in the blank)" Then Alison will say, "All I know is that I dreamed that for a REASON!" Then she'll huff off with a knit brow....

lol it's so true. I was joking to my friend the other day that Joe was like the show's clock. He is just constantly telling Allison the time.

Some others: Allison tells Joe he has "to drop the kids off at school" because she can't do it so often that I wonder why he doesn't just permanently take on this responsibility. This was especially true when he was out of work.

"Ariel is doing her homework". I was marathon watching because I could not sleep. It would appear that Ariel gets home from school at around 4ish and does homework until like eleven every night based on the number of times they say this, only taking breaks to eat dinner.

"This is Manuel Devalos". This one is odd. It doesn't seem to matter to Devalos that he and Allison have known each other for years, he always introduces himself with himself with his full name when he calls her house.

reply

Also spoken by either Lee or Devalos.. "And you know this... how?" Duh!

I just recently discovered Medium on Netflix. Currently on season 3.

The line "I don't understand" is driving me CRAZY! It's said by everyone...often.

I think the siblings bickering is "over the top" in many of the episodes. It's like they have nothing better to do than sit and argue about everything. Besides, I don't know any parent (including myself) who would listen to that constantly. My dad told us we could hate each other as much as we wanted when we moved out but had to be civil to each other in his house. ;-)

I think much more could have been done with the kids' characters other than the sibling rivalry stuff CONSTANTLY.

<< I think much more could have been done with the kids' characters other than the sibling rivalry stuff CONSTANTLY. >>

I agree.

That reminds me....this HAS to be a stock exchange in almost every other episode.

JOE: (taking off jacket) Hi, Kids. (to Alison, under breath) Hey, where's Bridgette?

ALISON: (sigh) She's in her room.

I don't watch the show, but my sister, who loves it, tells me that Allison is always saying she works "for the Districk Attorney's Office.."

...and I intentionally spelled it that way..apparantly she pronounces it incorrectly and it drives my sister crazy, lol.

reply

That always bugged the heck out of me, too!!! LOL She never could get the "T" out at the end...

Hahahaha I notice that every time too!

reply

Every time Allison has a dream-

Joe: "What's going on? Are you okay?"

I don't mean to be rude, yet, sadly, accidental rudeness occurs alarmingly often.

reply

lee or Devalos " I can't get a warrant on the basis of a dream"

reply

ALISON: But I SAW it! I'm telling you! It was...right...there...

I watched 'A Nightmare On Elm Street 3' the other day, forgot that Patricia Arquette is the star. One of her first lines, maybe even the first, was 'I just had a horrible dream!'

Cracked me up!

reply

HAHA! That's great! It was a flash forward to the defining role of her career.

reply

"But Alison, that doesn't make any sense" - spoken by EVERYONE. Joe, Scanlon, Manuel, etc

Joe always responding to Alison waking up with "Alice are you ok? What's going on?" You would think at some point he would just realize that it's just normal for her to wake up from having a crazy dream. Just roll over, hug her, kiss her, tell her everything will be ok, and go back to sleep. You can discuss it in the morning.
