I just wanted some opinions on if I should watch this show.
I really like this genre. I just finished watching Ghost Whisperer and enjoyed it. Are the shows similar at all? If you have any show recommendations feel free to tell me.

I enjoyed both shows tremendously. Obviously they have many things in common. Medium has a broader story arc, since not only can Allison see ghosts, but her daughters can see them, as well.

I loved Medium when it aired, and watched a few episodes a night again for the last two weeks.
This is my opinion after six seasons;
Still a great show, don't get the 6.0 because when i look at the episode list i see a 7.0,7.6,8.0
Main character Allison is really annoying.
Her husband is to nice, Allison wakes him up every time she had a dream for the i don't know how many years.
Why do people call her up in the middle of the night with news they could tell her in the morning, and related to that, why is the Phone at her husband's site of the bed?
This is just nitpicking, watch a few episodes and let me now how you liked it.

I have watched the first season and I have to say that I like it. I will definitely keep watching. I think it's a little slower than Ghost Whisperer and I don't like how you can't see all the ghosts. But I do like some of the stories.
One of my favorite shows is Law and Order: SVU, so this is like a mix of that and Ghost Whisperer.
There was one episode in Season One where she dreams of a 60's TV show, I really liked that storyline. I also liked the episode with the daughter and the little boy ghost a lot to.
What do I have to look forward to? Are the later seasons any different, or better?
I have noticed that her husband is very tolerant of her. Does that ever change? What about the children? Do they get to use their gifts more?

One of the most endearing dynamics of this wonderful show is the love and respect between Joe and Allison and that remains throughout the entire series. The same genuine care goes with all of the main characters (kids, Devalos, Scanlon, etc.).
However, I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend watching the series finale episode. I felt it ruined everything that was good about the series. My wife made the comment that it ruined the series for her and she could not watch reruns because of it.
I say this as someone who loves this show and wishes as many people as possible could enjoy it as well. Enjoy the series, but do not watch the final episode. In my opinion, it was the worst series finale ever.
Oh NO! I am up to season 5 now. What happens in the series finale? Does everyone die? Or is she living a dream? Now I am nervous
Ok, I have finally finished the series. I was nervous about watching the finale, but I got through it.
It was a really sad ending. I don't remember crying from a TV ending in a long time. I don't like how Allison never got to be with her husband again. I guess the irony is her and the kids can still see and talk to him. I loved how he waited for her. I wish there was more with Bridget, I guess they didn't want to hire another actress.
I really wish there were more episodes. I don't know what show to watch now... Any and all recommendation are welcome!
dont know what kind of shows u like,but i recommend two british crime series: wire in the blood, what remains.
little bit slow-paced,but very well developed characters,twisted plots,and very well acted.
This is several months later, and I am watching more or less for the first time (just started the 1st season last night, watching epi 3 intro of detective Scanlon) only watched a few, mixed up of the first 4 or 5 seasons, found out there were 7. Also just found out that the "they" decided quickly that Medium was "over" and that it had to end...hmmm guess that may explain why some no like, guess I will find out.
Other series/shows to try, well depending on old or new(er), and no longer on...have you watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel (after season 3 Buffy), Roswell also had some good epis over the 3 seasons, Chuck, Charmed...there is also Bewitched, (this 1 before my time but am watching now in the middle of the 5th season), I dream of Jeannie...
Others: Highlander, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (campy but I liked), Profiler (not the last season so much but the 1st 3 were good)
Could add others but think I typed too much already, and well if you have already watched these, hope you enjoyed if not, well to each their own, but maybe 1 of these you havent seen, will watch...so will wish you
