Do they drink in EVERY episode???

I'm almost thru season 2 and I think someone drinks alcohol (beer, wine or the hard stuff) in every episode! Are these two alcoholics? And speaking of that, didn't she say in an earlier episode that she had a problem with it in her early years (in an effort to drown out the visions)? If so, then it seems irresponsible for the writers/producers to have her character drink now (as an adult).

I don't know...I'm just sick of seeing them drink every episode!

Pretty much. They drink more often than I've ever seen on a show.

I'll have to politely disagree, on The Good Wife, the character of Alicia drinks wine at least once in every episode, sometimes more, sometimes alone, and sometimes with her brother, mother, co-workers and doing shots with Kalinda or Finn at a bar. There is a lot of drinking on that show. Even the character of her daughter has said "mom you drink too much" What drinking is done on Medium is hardly anything, mostly beer, on a few occasions wine and Joe getting drunk with his boss with whiskey or scotch. Not even close. But cheers to you.


I don't think she's an alcoholic i think she wants to drown it out at home. She just wants to be normal at some point but at least they never get drunk around the girls

I think if I were seeing horrific murders etc on a daily basis, I'd be drinking a lot too!

Seriously though, they maybe show them with one beer or a glass of wine - it's not unusual that people at home might have one drink after work each night. For some people it's practically a religion!

You're projecting your own thoughts and ideas into this. It seems like you don't like alcohol or think its just a Holiday thing, or maybe not even then.

She mentions that beer/wine used to quiet the voices. I love the show, but since I don't believe in Mediums or ghost I think hearing voices requires a Doctors attention. That aside...

People said the same thing about "Bewitched." Samantha offered Darren a Scotch many times after work. A common practice then, even today by some. Yet, now I see this same argument on that board.

I rarely drink. I have a better time without it, but people who have a 2 or 3 beers, martinis or glasses of wine a few nights a week are more common than me. I don't think Im special or more ethical because of it and I don't think that their alcoholics.

Grow up with one or get into a relationship and watch alcoholism rear its ugly head. You would wish they only drank a couple after 7 PM.

I was thinking Dallas as well.. Young & the Restless too.. then take a look at the 80s shows and you will see everyone drinking and smoking.

You still see people smoking-- even in govt buildings -- into the 90s.. then NOTHING

She has an intense job and visions/dreams but at least for me, wine calms down my nerves, not so much with beer or hard liquors such as vodka or whiskey. Studies have shown that red wine is actually good for you and your heart. So, I'm going with that. 

Should watch How I Met Your Mother (at the bar every night) or Supernatural (the brothers ..especially the oldest is always drinking)

Seems like nowadays it's the norm on tv ..see ppl drinking like fish

never noticed...I'm sure it is just because they are desert-state people...they need to store water..
