The season finale was so bad

OK, Joe dying was a bummer, but the whole episode was so boring. I mean, first Joe dies in a plane crash, then we suddenly flash forward to seven years in the future, with Ariel already pregnant, Bridgette on college, Marie in High school etc. Too much change too fast! Then we get the whole amnesia plot, Allison finally tracking down Joe, and that is revealed to be a dream at the end. Joe is really dead, then we flash forward forty years in the future. Allison dies and is re united with Joe in the afterlife. Why do they both look like they are in their 40s as ghosts if Allison was 70+ when she died? Why would Joe die if Allison had dreamed that their daughter would die of cancer 10+ years in the future if she wouldn't stop that corrupt construction company owner who had been mishandling toxic waste? There was no actual closure to their daughters, Scanlon, Lee, Lynn, none of the characters. We found out absolutely nothing about what has become of them.

I don't know, I'm still hoping that somebody will do a TV movie set post the finale. Maybe they can reveal it all to be a dream again and bring the actual closure to all the characters. After all, they did a Veronica Mars movie seven years after the series had ended, managed to bring Sara Tancredi back from the dead in "Prison Break" even though they had shown her severed head in a box and now, six years after the series had ended, they are making one more season... and now they are going to bring Michael back from the dead too... but most of the cast members ate busy with other projects too and there wasn't as much of media hype about this show.

You mean series/season 7 finale ;)

But yeah, Medium definitely has one of the worst series finale. St. Elsewhere and How I Met Your Mother were more notorious + successful as shows.... but man! I watched Medium in real-time and when the last episode was shown, this Medium board section was flooded with angry comments (and a few defenders). It seriously doesn't make sense if you rewatch the series because, as you pointed out, the DuBois women had so many silly and frivolous premonitions about those around them.... but they can't predict a plane crash!? Crazier than my ex-GF's logic!

The show should have ended with season six. Season seven was too short and most of the storylines were pointless.

SPOILER ALERT would have been useful in your title!
