I was just rewatching the show and realised they really should have stopped after season 6. I really hated the way the show ended in season 7, making it hard to enjoy reruns after what happened. Season 6 had a nice happy ending and call me sappy but I much preferred it to the shock ending of the final season. Too many shows Don't seem to know when to end, and medium was no exception. The X Files and Charmed also went on past enjoyment.
shareI think you're probably right. There is a past thread discussion the last season and wondering if the awful ending was because the producers were just getting tired of it. When I watch the DVDs, I only watch the first five seasons because I think they were the best. I don't even own the 7th season and probably never will.

That recalls sections of the ending that were not so bad. Why would it be so sad not to have your husband for the whole of your life? I have been divorced for 20 years, married for 17. Sometimes I feel sad, but mostly just live my life loving the rest of my family.
I feel sad for those who, because of the ending, cannot watch any of it any more. I don't quite understand it.
The ending is stupid as hell and an insult. The Dubois women had stupid dreams and premonition about people around them all the time! Scanlon proposing, Scanlon having a baby, Dvalos and his diabetes, Dvalos' daughter death, Joe's Dad appearing to get Joe to do meditation, Joe's Dad coming in to interfere with his daughter's marriage, etc, etc. And yet they couldn't stop the plane from crashing!?!? WTF, man. Such a horrible finale. The worst series finale I've ever seen :S

There are some horrible shows that go for like 20 years. And this was a good show. Needed a few seasons more.
