Help with a quote

There's a line somewhere near the beginning of the film where Burt tells the little boy about following his dreams.

Note: It's not either of the following quotes:

If you don't follow your dreams, you might as well be a vegetable.
Burt Munro: If you don't go when you want to go, when you do go, you'll find you've gone.
There was another one along similar lines and it was really nice. Unfortunately I can't remember it all!

Any ideas, anyone?

The analogy with a blade of grass?

----------
"If I've never seen it before, it's a new release to me."

reply

That certainly sounds familiar and could be the one I'm looking for. I'll know it when I read the full quote - do you happen to know it?

reply

No, but it's at the part of the movie where he's by the grave stone with the old lady and has to run from a rattle snake.

----------
"If I've never seen it before, it's a new release to me."

reply

Oh yeah, I remember it now. It was something about how a blade of grass dies and never grows back I think.

As it happens, it's not the one I'm looking for! I think my best option is to try and get hold of the DVD and watch the film again or get the screenplay online. I did remember really liking the quote though.

Dirty old men need love too!

...was that it? ;-)

Lol, not it either though that was a funny line in the film.
