Boring ! Boring ! Boring !

I just watched this movie and I could barely make it to the credits.
I can understand the pain the lead character was in, she was suffering and its sad that she could not find a way out of the depression, sad to watch and the hopelessness of the story left me cold.
It is a story that should be told in all its ugliness, but this Director wasn't the one to tell it.
Some scenes are so un-necessarily long and drawn out that its frustrating to sit entirely through it.
There was no need for the filter over the lenses, the depression of the characters was sufficient in itself, the actors portrayed that brilliantly.
Another critisism I have for the movie is my feeling for the characters, they were all bloody awful people, I couldn't stand any of them and to be honest by the end of the movie I couldn't have cared less if they all killed each other, and in fact I have to admit I was hoping that's the way it was going to end,
it's up to the people who make the movie to control how their characters are perceived by the audience.
Give this one a miss folks I wish I had done so, and I am thankful I didn't pay
money to watch this boring trash.

The only character I didn't like was the husband. Everyone else was just flawed, in my opinion. Can you really blame her for being depressed and angry after what she'd been through? This movie showed the dark depths of people's lives. I guess it's understandable that you were repulsed by how bare and honest it was.

SPOILER WARNING:

I agree, the husband was creepy. He didn't call the police even though his wife hadn't called in days. He readily believed her story that she had gone to visit friends, but he also said that she would usually call.

Why would he believe that she just went off to visit friends when she hardly did anything by herself?

Throughout the film he is so apathetic toward Nancy yet so dynamic at work or discussing work with colleagues. He emotionally neglects Nancy throughout. Even when her life could be in danger, he does nothing.

Louis wasn't very likable either until he started to have feelings for Nancy, then his vulnerability surfaced. Ironically, he seemed to care about what happened to Nancy more than Albert, her husband, did.

I could only feel sympathy for Nancy. Her story was so tragic and she suffered so badly. If only she could have found some comfort with Albert. Although she married him because she initially felt safe with him, ironically he further eroded her mental stability by neglecting her.

This film was not boring at all, but provocative and thoughtful.
