LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!

I first saw this film in the theater back in May and Any day with Pacino is a good day. Would it have been a good film w/out Pacino? Prob. Not. But because he's so brilliant & it's so fast paced, you just can't take your eyes off of him. It had a good plot & kept people guessing for a while. Plus, even in a drama, Pacino has a humour to him.I'm really tired of people saying that our greatest actors don't deliver great films anymore because of their age. That's Bullshlt! And imo this film proves that.If Pitt was the star of this film, it would have sucked. But the kiddies would have been all over it.When in truth, none of the new blood could hold a candle to Pacino.I thought Lee Lee's acting was horrid. I don't know if she was nervous & intimidated cause she was working w/ a legend or what. But her performance just stunk up the place. Which is prob. why ppl weren't guessing till the end. Who was the ugly male student? He was a Moron. Loved Amy B. in it though. Made me reminisce of her in "HEAT".Loved the film. Love Pacino. His acting was brilliant as always & he's still as gorgeous as ever. Granted, he's got almost 35 years on me. But he's still so amazing & so loverly. Proud Pacino Junkie & I Never wanna be cured! " Any day with Pacino is a good day."

I agree. He did a fine job, especially given the lacking material. He has been dogged by bad scripts through a lot of his career - I'd think people would be used to it. It's sure not the first time we've sat through
a bad movie just to see the Man. I read that he actually doesn't even *like* doing movies, so we're lucky to catch him in anything. He could just as easily retire or limit himself to stage work for peanuts, and then where would we be? I am happy to tolerate an 88 Minutes or a Righteous Kill if it means the periodic Scarface, Sea of Love, Insomnia, etc. I am not ready for him to retire from the screen - not even!!

It has everything to do with writing. And maybe just bad luck, in Patch's case. A paradox that the best performer can't find good material, but also he needs to say "yes" to more stuff in general. His filmography is actually pretty short, given how long he's been in the biz. Maybe the flops wouldn't sting so much if he took more of a Deniro approach to film projects. Or even a Nic Cage approach.

none of the new blood could hold a candle to Pacino.

Oh god, I HATED the casting in this movie !! With the exception of Alicia Witt (who I thought did fine - I don't get all the criticism there ..?) the supporting cast was horrible. Obviously it's tough to share a frame with our guy, but they could at least cast some more experienced people. This isn't the first time we've had to tolerate hacks, either.
(Simone, anyone?? Those Co's must have done some *serious* sleeping around to land those parts: "I have no talent. Guess how I keep getting work???")

Yeah, he rocks.

(Translation: Everybody makes mistakes.
It's ok, Patch. We still love you.)
