After about the second time the killer said it in that Scream-esque disguised voice it wound me up. You sort of knew it was coming every time the killer phoned in and it just got a bit stupid.
I was hoping Al would have just told the killer to grow up and spent the next 88 minutes in the police station with his FBI mates just to annoy the killer.

Lol I thought it was funny, me and my sister watched this together and I got a kick out of it, every few minutes I'd randomly say "tick-tock-doc!!" the way the killer says it, would annoy her lol. But yeah it would've made more sense for him to just wait it out in a secure room at the police department or something. =P
shareI think the reason he didn't hide out initially was because he figured it was just one of many threatening phone calls he receives (which is validated later in the movie when there's a whole folder of people that had threatened him in the past). By the time he figured it was the real deal, he was on the trail to stop the killer from killing more people.
Also, if he shacked up in a cop shop he would have been successfully framed and the original criminal would probably be released from death row.
I found it as annoying as watching an episode of Barney. But like the other poster it was almost laughable. Not what the filmmaker was going for in any case.
