What kind of cookies were they? And did they have any significance to the plot of the movie?

Hazel nut, and they were a clue as to who the killer wss, because in real life Lee Lee's favorite cookie is hazel nut.

There were demons. No, pilgrims! and they were pointing, saying 'This is the way! this is the way!

the cookies had poison in them and he had 88 minutes to find the antedote, which he gets just in the nick of time.
