Snowball effect of hate

IMDB is by no means the only site guilty of this (though it's possibly the worst), and it's indicative of the Internet as a whole, but it's ridiculous the way, but it's *beep* ridiculous the way people will hop on a bandwagon of hating on something -- in this case, 88 Minutes -- where the passion becomes less critically discussing the topic and more just trendily piling on the hate.

Is this a perfect movie? No, but it isn't anywhere near as ridiculous as some of you point out. It was entertaining, not groundbreaking or thoughtprovoking.

Most movies are flawed, and many are flawed as much or more than 88 Minutes. Is there anywhere left on the Internet where one can intelligently discuss movies? Because it sure as hell isn't happening on IMDB.

amen to this.

Truce,

I agree with your stance on how "hating" a movie is contagious on IMDB. There are some movies that I love, only to find out that the majority of posts are negative. It is baffling sometimes.

I do though disagree with your comment that "it wasn't as ridiculous as some of you point out". I found that it was so ridiculous that I watched it to keep finding mistakes.

The reason I am writing this was your comment that other movies more flawed than this. Would you mind listing them?

I am not asking so that I can argue with you (not at all), I am just curious.

What's brutal to one person might be entirely reasonable to someone else.

Here's a hankie for you, Truce. Everyone associated with these dreckball films makes more money in an afternoon than you do in a year, maybe more. When we pay money, spend time on crap like 88, with our intelligences, however humble, bruised by the sheer inanity of this drivel, our tastes assaulted by bad acting, editing, music, continuity, etc., then we have every right on Earth to blast this shizzit again and again, making the rubble bounce, as it were. IMDB is not a Buddhist monastery.

I disagree. I just saw The cry of the owl, and there were a lot of insightful posts full of ideas that I had never thought of. This movie did not have a lot of meaning to it, so there is less of that here. This is more of a 24 type movie.
