This film was good!

What's with you lot?

This is the first flim I've watched with Al Pacino in and I thought it was really good.

A good thriller, fast moving, kept you guessing, pacino was great, fully understood, a really good watch and a nice ending!
For me - 8 out of 10.

hvg-1 LOL!!

the ending was crap. too cliche'd and literally any of the characters could have filled the role of the murderer with little to no modification of the plot. this film is one aimed at having a twist ending but really it seems more of a blank slate where any character can be put in any role. al pacino was the only thing that made this film decent. 6/10 is generous.

'88 Minutes' is a mediocre movie, but at least it's not as boring as lots of generic thrillers released before and after this flick. Besides it includes enough "Pacinoisms" that could amuse you (moderately) for about 100 min if you are Pacino's fan. Other than that, I'm agree, the movie is mediocre, not terrible, just mediocre.
BTW this is far from being Pacino's worst movie. Just watch 'People, I Know', and you will know what I am talking about.

6/10

I actually really liked this movie... I mean, sure, it's no Godfather or Heat or Scarface... but, c'mon!! This was a good flick!! 5% on RottenTomatoes... that's rediculous!!!

I agree!! Who the hell were the 5 percent !!! This might of been the dumbest movie of all time! Tic toc doc tic toc doc!! Lmao!!!

Hmm, I actually find this movie very good. Al Pacino give an okay performance and the plot is pretty cool. The only thing that bugged me was the ending. It could have been done better.

Anyone who thinks this is Al Pacino's best movie should see a psychologist.

Didn't this movie come out in the same year as "Righteous Kill"? I liked this one better. I felt RK's ending was predictable.

The movie is entertaining only in that "it's so bad, it's good". The plot and acting suck, but Pacino's hair rocks!

I completely agree. This movie had me guessing until the very end. Very engaging thriller that I gave a 9 out of 10. I'm really surprised the rating was so low!

What makes this film so good?
I have yet to watch it.
Does Al Pacino deserve a Razzie nomination for this one just like he did for Righteous Kill?
I found the latter not a bad movie at all.
I have yet to see 88 minutes to make my judgement on it.

I saw "88 Minutes " on crackle.com. I don't think it is still there, but crackle is known for rotating their film library. The next time it's available why not just take a chance and watch it. Worse case scenario is that you didn't enjoy the movie and you lost 90 minutes out of your day.

For what it's worth, I liked the film. It wasn't by any means a classic, but the film entertained me. I was never bored.

I could not agree with you more, kfipaul. The movie caught me and kept me involved until the very end. This is rare (with me anyway) in movies made during the 2000's.

If this is the first movie featuring Al Pacino the OP has watched. Does that mean he is 12 years old? Maybe younger? Which makes his/her opinion about the quality of 88 Minutes moot.

This is -with Rightous Kill- the worst movie(s) Al's been in. Except for Adam Sandler's last effusion, but that was a cameo.

I agree, it was enjoyable. Not Pacino's best still a good film. Honestly don't get the hate for the film.

wow....really...have some pride in your moviegoing selves...

don't be afraid to call crap crap...of course pacino is always going to act well, he's pacino, but this was a joke of a movie..a glorified TV movie of the week.

cut the nonsense, nitpicking in reverse to try to find the good in the movies

this is a bad movie plain and simple...not suspenseful, riddled with plot holes and worse, riddled with examples of writers/directors/producers not having the least bit of respect for an educated movie going public.
