When Nim had her crying scenes who cried too? I work at the cinemas and did a theater check and saw people wiping their eyes at the part when Nim was with Alex and said her dad wasn't coming back. It seems like any crying moment Abigail has in her films she has this ability to trigger an audience to cry with her.
Yeah, Abigail only had one major crying scene at the end, but it was a good one. Just the way her face crinkles up, and she just starts bawling. For a kid, she really has that down cold. Even when she was really little in movies like "Chestnut" and "Raising Helen," she knew how to do that really well.
well technically there was another scene she cried after she saw the cruise ship captain come to the island to check it out. She was more frustrated, scared and worried more than anything but she still choked up a bit. The other scene was her bigger one that would be considered her crying scene. But I guess you're right when you say "major one" since the other wasn't as big as the end. I loved how even after she saw her dad come back she was still recovering from it as if the entire scene was done in one take. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, but she made it look like it was.
I didn't cry, but I have a much bigger respect for her as an actress. I'm one of the few who didn't like Little Miss Sunshine. But Nim is Abigail's movie and she carried it very well.
