People who hate this film clearly don't get it

This film wasn't supposed to be masterpiece, good or even mediocre film. Fred Vogel wanted to make a very realistic, fake snuff film. The whole movie is essentially a home movie. If you watch a home movie, it obviously has no plot to it. All the people who hate this film are obviously too much in to the mainstream because this film is the anti-mainstream. As said in the title, it's an underground film. Underground films usually don't have the formality film techniques that you see in the typical block buster films such as the Transformer films or Twilight. I'm not saying that all underground films don't have plot, they just avoid a lot of film customs. It's just that this film is very underground that avoids almost all film film customs. If you think this film is plotless then watch "Slaughtered Vomit Dolls", it makes the August Underground's Mordum look like "Natural Born Killers" in terms of story telling, film quality and film customs.

However, it's a VERY annoying, stupid and crappy snuff film. Also highly painful, as to how bad the actors are at acting... -__-'

Here is the problem with the August Underground trilogy. I've seen enough interviews with Vogel to understand part of his motivation for making the trilogy. From what I can gather, it seems Vogel realized that America had become so desensitized to violence, that the viewing audience didn't seem to care that you could find clips of real murder on the internet. You experience these clips from a distance, so they don't present imminent danger.

American cinema tends to treat death in a different manner. A John Wayne movie might have 20 people shot and killed, but with no blood or gore. Plus, the hero always saves the day and wins. European cinema has shown violence in a more realistic manner, that tends to shock and horrify the viewer. This seems to be Vogel's intent. Show violence and murder in the worst possible light. Does not glamorize murderers. The characters in August Underground Mordum, are not the kind of people that you would ever want to meet in real life. I can understand Vogel's mentality, as far as portraying violence in a way that would turn off the viewer. But at times, I can't tell if this film is art that provokes the viewer to protest hate, violence and murder. Or is it just an exploitation film, that's sole purpose is to shock and horrify, for the purpose of selling the dvds? That's my problem with this movie. I'm not sure what this movie represents and what purpose it serves.

But, weasel-evil, August Underground Mordum was in NO WAY a "realistic snuff film"! Obviously fake gore effects, truely atrocious acting and dialogue written by a drunk with tourettes (if screaming variations of the word *beep* every 2 seconds was "realistic" speech, screenwriting would i venture be somewhat easier!)show that this film is anything but what you say. Check out "Man Bites Dog" if you want a WELL MADE faux snuff film, this is just a freak show and way too incompetently made to disturb. Think long, LONG slabs of tedium interrupted by moments of side show carnival gross out.
