This has probably been said, but I’m going to put my thoughts out there on the issue of Sarada’s mother. Remember that spoiler we heard long ago about The Last of Sasuke and Sakura being on a mission and Karin died to save Sakura? Well, what if this is somewhat true, and Karin did die to save SARADA? And that is why she has Karin’s genes and is wearing her glasses. Sasuke and Sakura look sad when she is brought up, and the glasses are a momento for her for what she did for them. Suigetsu even looked a little odd when asked about her. She is buried elsewhere… And Naruto is definitely not wrong, she is Sakura’s daughter through and through in personality. This is by far a better explanation than Sarada being a Karin and Sasuke experiment. If that were the case, Sasuke wouldn’t have dodged Orochimaru with the science experiment remark so easily… it would have been far more tense.
So that’s my call. Karin saved Sarada with her bite thing technique, transferring her own dna/cells. Or perhaps to Sakura when she was pregnant.
Also, this whole revelation is going to tie back to the conversation Sakura is having with freak of the sharingan about genes and survival to create some kind of ethical/moral point. Or to prove it isn't about genetics, its about GUTS. or something stupid like that. even though thats bs.
And just for the record, we all know Sasuke is Kishi's favorite. The option of Sasuke actually being a pimp and banging Karin and marrying Sakura to raise his kid while Karin is "off at another base" is zero. It would destroy his character and everything the series built up to be revealed about Sasuke in 699. 699 would become CRAP if Sasuke did all that, said what he did to Sakura, and then knocked Karin up and left the kid with her. So that isn't even an option. And I'm pretty sure Kishi isn't about to destroy his own series.
As much as I'm enjoying the hilarity of the ensuing sh!tstorms around this chapter, it's been called out many times as an obvious troll. The SK fandom is next in line to feel the burn of Kishi's red herring. Bait bait bait bait bait. Too obvious how it's gonna end. Either or, Kishi simply got the idea in his head that this kind of drama was a good idea to help awaken Sarada's sharingan, which not a single person has even bothered to comment on because they're too upset at the Uchiha family shenanigans. Of course, the main idea of this was to cause chaos in the fandom, but I digress.
Karin being dead is dumb. Honestly that sounds like a SS shippers sinister wishes to eliminate SK as a threat and derail the DNA test as an SS ship sinker, no offense Sakura. Otherwise the logical thinker can conclude that Suigetsu screwed the test up, since Karin's drawers are full of her obsession with Sasuke, quite obviously. I mean, it's pretty clear that Sasuke and Sakura are married anyways, and Sakura raised her lovingly for 12+ years. Does a DNA test really change that? Does DNA really even matter in that case? All of a sudden Sakura being biologically related to Sarada is more important to her than Sasuke having been absent all her life? What the hell are this girl's priorities, jesus. For pete's sake, she wagered her relations to her parents on a pair of glasses and a few scarce physical features, she readily accepted Sasuke as her real dad despite his whimsical stupidity, and she wouldn't even have known it until she woke up her sharingan, like she just did. Maybe she would have been more convinced if she had pink hair. Yeah, I can see where the importance of pink haired sharingan babies comes into play now.
Here's an idea that Kishimoto could use if he ever wants to prove that he's as good at writing stories as he is drawing a sharingan:
Sakura is tragically infertile and cannot have children, which Sasuke and Sakura discovered after marriage. Sakura really wants a kid, so Sasuke, still known as a treacherous villain at the time, went to go find help from the only person he knew would bear a child for him: Karin. Or it could have possibly been the worst choice, considering having nearly killed her once, and the mere fact that asking to bear his child for another woman would probably make her mad. It would at least be interesting to see how that happened. And of course once Karin does agree to it she asks to give some kind of token gift to the child for when it's born--her glasses. The fact that Sakura is infertile is too hard to tell Sarada, because obviously with Sasuke gone for twelve years the last thing she needs is for her daughter to grow up with her knowing that she really isn't her daughter. I mean, consider why Naruto has a second kid and Sakura and Sasuke don't. Sounds pretty obvious to me. Justifies the whole genes crap that nearly bored me to death in this chapter, since Sakura is trying to justify why genes aren't so important. I'm just waiting for Sarada to finally run into Karin and get the beans spilled to her which no one else seems to be able to do. And honestly I have no idea why Kishi hates team Taka so much, I honestly really enjoy Suigetsu's character.
Anyways, that's my take. I'm not expecting too much from Kishimoto though, aside from more red herring nonsense.
At first I was liek :D Then I was french for the rest of the day :}D
I cared about her sharingan being awakened, but yeah, it does feel like this drama is meant for her development. I haven't had much commentary or speculation up until now tho.
I do not want Karin to be dead, but didn't you see Sasuke and Sakura's faces when that picture of taka gets flashed around? They look sad... I actually liked Karin later in the series (her meeting with Sakura and her antics). I mean she was never a real threat to SasuSaku in my eyes to begin with. It was all comedy. And she is an Uzamaki, I wanted to see that addressed.
As far as the DNA test mattering... yes, it matters in the sense it sheds light on the nature of Sasuke's character. If not to the fanbase, to other characters such as Naruto. you saw his reaction to thinking Karin was the real mother. Not good. Obviously there is a lot more to the truth that Naruto will learn, but if she really was the mother, this story just lost Sasuke as a moral character that took us 699 chapters to finally see, smashed with a stupid off screen trashy concept of him being a womanizer or something.
As far as Sasuke having been absent all Sarada's life, Naruto summed it up this chapter the whole point was to keep people from knowing about her being his daughter. Which I fail to see how they were doing a good job of keeping that secret seeing she ran around with an Uchiha crest, but she was safely in the village. All silly, but it does seem that he intended to keep away for noble reasons no matter how in question those reason are.
Well, I'm not convinced about his "noble quest" seeing as their isn't very much detail surrounding it and the little bit there is doesn't justify him not coming back even once for twelve years. His character is the presumptuously guilty type, in need for redemption, so until more light is shed on that he's innocent until proven guilty.
On the other hand, I don't see any light being shed on Sakura's character because of Sasuke's actions. That's the important thing right now. One of three routes are about to be taken: 1). Sakura got straight NTR'd by Sasugay. As if everyone's opinion of him wasn't low enough. 2). Suigetsu messed up the DNA test. This is the most obvious answer, but nothing is set in stone yet, and we'd be left in the dark again. 3). The concept I stated above.
I mean, Sarada could be a straight genderbent clone of Sasuke for all we know, too. But that lies among the more moronic plot devices, so I don't really see it happening. Then again, you never know with Kishi the troll.
Now, despite all "sad faces" which could be for multiple different reasons (I never came to any "Karin is dead" conclusion from them, I dunno), I absolutely do not see Karin being dead. That would be straight up retarded. It would make Suigetsu casually mentioning her being at another base pointless, and I don't think he cares whether or not Sarada knows if she's dead or not. On top of that, let's just kill off all the SK fans in the most painful way possible, eh? Not only did their beloved ship not sail, and not get a satisfying amount of development, but the most focus she's ever gotten in hundreds of chapters is merely a revelation that she's straight up dead? Can you imagine? That's straight up spitting in the face of a fandom. Talk about alienation.
Yeah, either or, I'm just looking for the series to end already. I've already enjoyed the mass hysteria of the other fanbases, and we all know it's not gonna last, so I'm already hurrying it to end. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it a Japanese holiday next week? I'm curious to know if we're going to get another chapter or not.
