I just started Naruto and I'm almost done with season 1... and still I don't see the point of Sakura.
She doesn't fight...
She isn't pleasant...
She doesn't contribute anything to the show, besides I guess being the token girl character. What is her point?

I've read the entire manga. She serves no purpose.

She's there to make you mad. Whether you're a fan of her or not, she's just there to make everyone mad in every different way.

Sakura is actually a lot more tolerable and likable in the manga, the anime kind of messed her character up and made her more annoying than she was actually intended.
The closest we ever get to seeing "manga Sakura" in the anime, is in The Last and Boruto the Movie, since Kishimoto was involved with both of those productions (of course, Kishi wrote the entire script for Boruto, while The Last's script was heavily edited by him).

Useless sums her up; though cannon fodder isnt all useless as she took punches keeping them off sasuke in that one exam. I keep seeing her in situations running minutes of commentary and I'm like just punch someone or do something already. And her opposite shadow outline that yells is annoying.

I have never understand why people complaints about Sakura and no one complaints about Hinata.

Trust me, there's a LOT of people who like to complain about Hinata. Have you seen some of the user reviews for The Last?! Hell, there's even anti-Hinata groups all over Tumblr, Facebook, and even DeviantArt!
They might not be as vocal as Sakura haters (whom I can't stand either, because it's pointless to hate Sakura, and I've already gotten over my anti-Sakura phase years ago), but I have seen many Hinata haters left and right.
