I can't believe that Kragen bet on 0 in Roulette.I mean is he an idiot or what?

I've bet on 0 and won. He was an idiot in the film, but betting on 0 or 00 doesn't make you an idiot.

What in the world makes 0 a worse bet than any other number on the wheel? The odds of hitting any number are the same as hitting any other. Bad. There are 37 numbers on a European roulette wheel (38 in the U.S. because there is a 0 and a 00). The payoff for hitting a single number is 35-1. The odds against hitting a single number is 37-1. Pretty big edge for the casino.
