To All of You Complaining about the ending....

How would you have ended it?

Personally, I liked the movie, but so many are complaining about the end? How would u have ended it? I bet your ending would have been dumb!

"Eva's sisters gave her a cross with Jesus on it for her birthday, the next day Jesus was gone!"

Actually, I would have ended it after the first 45-50 minutes where Kyle found out her daughter died in the "accident" and it was all in her mind. That would, in my opinion, have made a perfect psychological thriller about a woman loosing her marbles... but, alas, they had to make the terrorist twist and ruin it all.

Yes, much better! I agree. I actually wondered if the movie was going to end at that point (but that would have made it too short).

This film should never have been made at all. The plot was completely preposterous, and the film was just a sorry excuse to give the viewer yet another chance to see Jodie Foster (after The Silence of the Lambs, Contact, Panic Room, etc.,) looking tense.

There are too many thrillers about conjuring up people who don't really exist or are dead, that it would have also been a boring twist to the movie. I liked the that it wasn't just going to be a psychological thriller, but this kind of a plot just didn't make sense in the world in which we live now. I think the idea of a conspiracy to declare a person insane to your own advantage is interesting, and it is really scary, like in this urband legend.

It's about a woman and her daughter who go on a trip to Paris when suddenly the mother falls ill. They go back to the hotel and get checked out by the hotel doctor. The doc sends the daughter on trip across town to get medicine from his home office. When the daughter returns hours later, she finds no sign of her mother. The staff at the hotel claim to not know her and all of her and her mother's belongings are gone. They try to convince her she's at the wrong hotel. What happened? The doctor saw that the woman had contracted a form of plague and knew she would die shortly. So he sent the girl on a trip for fake medicine so the hotel could have time to remove the body, redecorate the hotel room and remove any trace that the mother and daughter had ever been there. If news came out that there was a case of plague, there'd be massive panic. So the hotel staff was ordered to tell the girl she was at the wrong hotel, and she was called insane.

And I guess another example is the story used for the movie 'Changeling.' I didn't see the movie, but when they brought back the fake son and she refused to believe he was her son, she was also declared insane. And this happened in real life.

Hard to say, as I wouldn't have laid the plot out the way they did...

I would have her go totally bat *beep* crazy, start blaming the captain and have her crash the airplane

I actually came up with a better ending last night. She ends up waking up after falling asleep waiting for her plane and it turns out she was on her way to her daughter's funeral.
BAM! Bad ending fixed.
