Preposterous Movie!

The plot is absolutely preposterous.

The air marshal’s plan relies on 3 very improbable things happening:

First, he relies on the hopes that none of the passengers and none of the crew sees the child get on the plan or sees her while on the plane (before he kidnapped her).

Second, he relies on Jodi Foster not telling anyone on the plane that she is, in fact, not a terrorist and never requested any money to be wire transferred to her.

Third, he relies on the authorities not being able to get security footage of Jodi Foster walking with her daughter at Berlin airport. There is security footage all over airports! Even the 9/11 hijackers were on the security footage.

If any of these 3 things didn't happen the way the air marshal planned it, then his plan would have been shot to hell and he never would have gotten his $50 million.

Additionally, the air marshal said that his plan was to shoot Jodi Foster dead and leave the detonator in her hands. However, it would be obvious that he was the one who killed her considering he was the only person with a firearm on the plane!

Also, the air marshal had requested that a plane be supplied so that the hijackers could get away. Again, wouldn't it be obvious that he is the bad guy when the authorities see HIM getting on that plane?

And lastly, when Jodie Foster walks off the plane with her daughter at the end, why was she not swarmed with police and put in hand cuffs? The authorizes had no idea at that point that she was not the one who had orchestrated the hijacking. They could not instantly deem her innocent simply because she had her daughter with her.

Am I missing something or is this movie absolutely ridiculous?

You`re only scratchign the surface, mate.

lets say his plan went perfectly and Foster died as he "planned", wouldnt it soon be discovered that she DID in fact have a child on board?

Also, it`s claimed that the child died with her father, in which case, why isnt she flying two caskets back then?

How did he get rid of the childs boarding pass, which Foster had in her pocket? Jodie Forster of all people would know instantly if a mans hand went into her pants!

How did he even know where to look for it?

How did he know which funeral director she would choose and that he would take a bribe?

Nothing makes any sense

Well he had said that when that bomb exploded, it would destroy any evidence of the girl. So if his plan worked, they would have never found the girl on board because she would have been blown out of the plane. At least that was his reasoning.

But yeah, the authorities would have seen the video from the Berlin airport which showed the girl. So they would have figured it out eventually.

So, not only did no one see the child on the plane, but she wasnt noticed at school either? She didnt have any uncles or aunts, grandparents, friends, neighbours?? There isnt a single person on the planet who can varify that she exsists except her mother...who also never mentioned her??

The air marshal would have been long gone with the money by the time they started investigating. It wasn't that they couldn't prove the daughter existed but that she had ever boarded the plane.

All along they thought she was crazy when she told them she had a child who they thought was dead, when her child did appear at the end, there was no other reason why they wouldn't believe her.

The air marshal would have been long gone with the money by the time they started investigating.

Dont be silly. A plane gets highjacked and blown up, people have been killed and over $50m, plus the cost of plane and God knows what else, has been lost? No one is going anywhere until it is all cleared up, especially the Marshall.
