What was the deal with the Arab guy?

I missed that completely - why was Jodie's character so sure she'd seen that particular guy, and that he was so definitely involved in the disappearance?

Was that ever explained?

umm, I'm thinking maybe she was so flustered that she began actually imagining things. Everyone was saying she was crazy about her girl so she really did begin imagining opponents around her. Her desperation turned on some of her baser prejudices that should ordinarily think better of. It might seem far fetched, but that's all I've got.

In the beginning of the movie, when she's tucking her daughter into bed, she looked out the window and saw the arab man staring at her and her daughter throught the bedroom window. Later, after her daughter went missing, she realized that the arab on the plane was the same one that was staring at her throught the wondow.
