They didn't check the coffin?

Even if a coffin is x-ray proof, wouldn't someone at the airport open it and check the inside?

reply

Of course they would...this is just one of many things that makes the plot of the movie fall apart.

the flight attendants could easily get to the luggage and plant the bombs. they somehow managed to get them through security.

I know this topic is several months old but I just wanted to add my two cents regarding airport security. I recently saw a very interesting documentary on the subject, where reporters with hidden cameras were trying to prove that one could get an awful lot of dangerous items through airport security checks. I'm afraid I can't remember the name of the documentary (I saw it on the French TV channel TF1 a couple of weeks ago) but it was fascinating and VERY scary.

Of course passengers would go through quite a thorough check before boarding the airplane (although sometimes the security guards just don't watch those X-Ray monitors AT ALL...), but the people who work at the airport or on the plane (pilots, stewardesses, ground staff...) are actually able to board the plane without ANY real security check. The reporters in the documentary asked these people to try and get forbidden items on board (weapons, explosives...) to see if they would be caught and arrested. Well, they weren't. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly how they managed it, but they totally did.

The reporters then showed their footage to the airport managers, who got really embarrassed and refused to answer any questions properly. (I think the airports they "tested" were Orly and Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle ; both are huge international airports near Paris.)

Anyway - apparently, it is definitely possible to get explosives on a plane, even without hiding them in a coffin.

.................
"You know, this is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee."

No, because it's electronically locked at the morgue. Did you miss that bit?
