... that Foster was imagining the heart on the window, along with her daughter still being alive, and that maybe there was another small coffin elsewhere in the hold that Foster didn't see...
...but no, it really was the worst ransom idea ever relying on the most coincidences you can imagine, being foiled by one propulsion engineer armed only with... well, nothing actually.
