After she fell off the chair...[SPOILERS]

Was the little girl still alive? The actress clearly was breathing and moved her hand a little bit, but I wonder if that was a mistake or intentional. How incredibly sad (or even sadder I should say) if she could still have been rescued had they called an ambulance. One would think Akira would know better even if he did not want the family broken up.

Given the level of attention to detail in the movie then yes, the shots of the little girl are of her alive. There is a tabu of showing a corpse – you'll notice the shots of Yuki change to those of her limbs and not her head.

Utterly painful to watch. But the kids were being dutiful under the circumstances by not revealing their presence to outsiders.

Yes she was still alive. That was the saddest part of the movie. I kept hoping they would finally give in and contact the authorities, so she could get the help she needed. Yes, they'd be separated, but they'd all be alive.

why they would be separated, im unfamiliar of this rule.. pplz explain.. 2ndly why the hell Akira not took the innocent to hospital.. thats impossible for a child to bury a younger sister.. and how the hell her elder sister agreed to do so ? ridiculous for me, really hard to digest such cruelty from elder brother n sister..
the mother was the worst

So nice of you to put "spoiler" in your title, when your title IS a spoiler.....smh

reply

You've got to be kidding me. SMH yourself.

People "fall off their chairs" laughing. There's nothing there to say it was a serious injury (like if it was "after she fell off the roof"). If this is a spoiler, what about topics like "No truant officers in Japan?" or "What did Saki do for the money?" or "Did anyone else think the mother was a prostitute?"

Please enlighten me: how would you suggest this thread should have been titled?

Look, I'm probably as sensitive to spoilers as you are. I like to go into a movie totally unspoiled: ideally, I know the title, and nothing else. But you know what? I never read the message board for a movie until after I've seen it. If you are so pure about spoilers, why are you reading this board? Sheesh.
