Great series!

I love this series! Martin Clunes is perfect for the role. Love all the characters and the beautiful village.

I especially liked the actress who played Elaine, his office assistant the first year. I hated that she left, although the new actress was good, too.

I remember Clunes when he was very young, playing a teenager in an early British Comedy. I recognized him immediately. He has a distinctive look, what with the big ears. When he was young, he looked like a goofy teenager in the sitcom and was tall and slim. I liked that series. It was about the parents, who had a couple of kids, and Clunes was one of them.

Another one to check for Lucy Punch (Elaine) is Vexed series 1 which is on Acorn. She was also in the movie Bad Teacher.

Clunes has a bunch of stuff. I've been watching William & Mary, Demob, and Reggie Perrin. Check out Saving Grace and the two Doc Martin movies for a very different version of the character.

martin Clunes is very good, and very funny. The other characters are good too. i personally liked Pauline better than Elaine, but Elaine was good too. The village is gorgeous, Cornwall has many such picturesque villages, it is a lovely place.

No Place Like Home was the sitcom he played a teenager in. Later he had a hit with another sitcom called Men Behaving Badly. And he was in Saving Grace, a film in whcih he also played a doctor in a Cornish village, though he is an entirely different sort of character in that.
