This movie actually first aired on A&E, but they are both owned by Disney.

This is true, but once upon a time, Lifetime and LMN played a variety of tv movies, even ones that originated from other networks. Lifetime was so known for this, when many think "Lifetime movie," they think any basic tv movie; tv movies basically became synonymous with the Lifetime brand.
Now LMN has become a bad knock-off of A&E, and Lifetime, a reality-show-ridden station, with very little tv movies on either anymore. :/
