firstly i want to say i loved this film, but was upset by the ending
how comes she didnt stop him from going into the porn industry? surly she could have advised against it....doesnt seem a very safe industry to pursue a career in, as a father, wouldnt she have wanted more/better for her child?
It was freaking depressing to see this guy in gay porn. Bree/Stanley should have confessed early on. Also, I don't why he/she blames both parents. Only the mom seemed like a head case. The father seemed fine.

They probably wouldn't have gotten that time together if he did. And I think he blamed both parents because the dad kinda seemed absent when the mom was flying off the handle. thats just my op
shareShe could have sat there and judged just as her parents judged her, but instead she left her mind open and gave Toby the chance to make up his own mind. How could she have the hypocrisy to gripe about what he wanted to be after she'd put up with it for a good deal of her life...especially so soon after their reconciliation. It isn't something she could just "jump" into warning him off without scaring him away or causing arguments that might further complicate their relationship BEFORE it's been re-established.
As for safe industry to pursue a career in...Alot of pornography production companies have strict policies about consistant HIV/AIDS testing, drugs testing and very struct policies about safe sex to protect their "assets". Not ALL of them are like this, but alot of them are so that they can comply with the law.
It seemed likely Bree would voice caution, in time, to Toby. But what was she going to do--condemn him instantly, when there is a chance for reconciliation? She made it clear she still didn't approve of his smoking, or "putting your dirty tennis shoes on my coffee table." But knowing his history--what he'd been through and what she'd just put him through!--Bree wisely behaved more like a friend, less like a judging parent.
