I thought this was a great musical and very well done. Some of the songs gave me goose-bumps! :) If you really listen to the words and the meanings, it really makes you think. As a general music teacher, I plan on showing this to my older students every year, and I believe strongly in exposing children to this art form. They need to learn there is more out there than video games and violent movies. We need to bring back a sense of music and culture.
I totally agree 100%. This was a fantastic musical and I think it was the best version yet. Great casting, great songs, great dialougue, everything was great. Children definitly need to be exposed to more great culture and music like this movie instead of all these ridiculous reality TV shows and hip hop rap music.
Im 15 and I totally agree, I love broadway shows, musicals, massive orchestral pieces, I realize its based on opinion, but when people at school lend me their Ipods, and they say 'Oh I love this song' and it's 50 cent, Im thinking, yeah, but where's the buzz in that, where's that phenomenal thrill that you get from listening to something like Beauty and the beast, Les Mis, or maybe a finale from a disney film (alan menken specifically). I love music that gives you a buzz, John Williams, his soundtracks are perfect examples of this, Alan Menken is most likely the best! He's a genius.
Sorry folks, compared to the 1970s version of Scrooge with Albert Finney, this one plain sucks. I expected the music to be better given the talent involved, but the music in the old version is 100 times better.
Oh wow, I remember watching this, but I don't really remember it.
Does anyone know if it's going to be aired again this winter? I'm very interested in seeing it again now that I realize Jesse L. Martin was in it. :p Shame I wasn't a Renthead at the time.
