With Zathura as my first exposure to Dax Sheppard on film, I was quickly taken at how close the resemblence was between him and Bruce Dern. So much to the point that I wondered throughout Zathura if they were not father-and-son. Really amazing. Now for you younger movie-goers I am talking about the Bruce Dern from his early days (Hang 'em High; They Shoot Horses Don't They?; Silent Running; John Wayne's the Cowboys; The Great Gatsby; Black Sunday; Coming Home). I watched Zathura with my daughters and we had a good time.
