I don't think it's a sequel, but when I started watching I thought "this is a copy of Jumanji" - i don't there is any connection or relationship between them, but the concept is definitely the same (even having two siblings playing the game)
shareWell, the book Zathura is meant to be a sequel to the movie Jumanji. And they are by the same author, Chris Van Alsburg. But the movie didn't resemble jumanji at all.
