Basement?
If the house was ripped from its foundations why is there a basement?
Unless its reinforced concreted connected to the house.
It didnt seem that way becuase you see the house not the basement

Really? It's a sci/fi-fantasy adventure and you're concerned about the basement? What about atmosphere and gravity? As with any fantasy, if the story wants it, it's possible and rarely is the "science" explained or justified.
If any of this sounds too convenient then don't bother with Shakespeare either. Some of his tales are full of magical isles with demons and sprites and mere mortals able to sway even the storms of heaven.

it wasn't ripped from it's foundations, there was a good chunk of earth under it (and the basement)
and it occured because THAT IS HOW THE GAME WORKS
