Fill the cart yourself
One of my favorite fantasies these days involves how I would have filled that shopping cart. Here's my list. I'd love to hear yours.
- Frozen meat. The build-up pillars aren't ribs. They're identically-shaped boxes (so they'll stack nearly in the chest freezer) of meat, all different kinds, taped together to form the pillars. They're labeled on the sides so they can be identified while stacked in the freezer. Some boxes hold 48 chicken drumsticks. Some hold two pork roasts. Some hold beef roasts. Some hold hot dogs. Some hold steaks. All are packed solid and contain an amount suitable for a family of 12 for two meals. Very supportive, creative, talented butchers at this store.
-Boxes of frozen fish sticks.
-Boxes of powdered milk to be mixed with fresh milk to make it go farther.
-Twenty boxes of 24 candy bars. Everybody gets a candy bar 4 nights a week.
-Cans of pineapple chunks.
-Jars of exotic stuff.
-On the bottom, under the basket, a huge bag of dried beans and a huge bag of brown rice.
-On the top, the lollipops. These are not saved but immediately divided into 12 equal piles and handed out.
