I've no idea - but no doubt you guys over there will get to see it long before us poor Brits.
If like me, you're dying to see this movie, then I suggest you do what I'm currently doing: reading the book all over again. It's even better than the first time I read it! Roll on the movie!!!

I, too recently reread Prizewinner and enjoyed it more than the first time. Filming was completed the first week of November, 2004, and now it is being edited. It will be up to the studio to decide when to release it.
I grew up just four doors from Evelyn, so I am very excited about the prospect of seeing her life protrayed on the screen. Actually, if the movie includes that chapter about their car trouble and walking into Sherwood, Ohio, (Evelyn's hometown) while they waited for it to be repaired, I may do something outrageous like yelling out, "That's my house! or That's my hometown!" I can hardly wait

Wors is the movie will be released fall 2005 (for obvious Oscar consideration). So with this film plus "Freedomland" which Moore is currently filming for a possible fall 2005 release, Julianne Moore should be one talked-about actress come awards season 2006.

Who are you asking? *confused look* Well, I'm from the UK, so I guess I can answer. Well, I've only ever lived in the same place my whole life, so I don't know anything else really. But generally it's pretty good, I'd be more interested in what it's like to live there though, I would so love to visit New York.

Few downsides to the UK though:
Everything is more expensive
It rains a hell of a lot
We have to wait longer than you guys for TV shows, DVDs and films

Other than that it's peachy really. I'm not sure exactly what you wanted to know, but if there's anything else, I'm happy to answer

Ditto all of the above re living in the UK, but we do have plenty of historic stuff. And as for clothes/shoes shopping, I guess that's why we buy so much in the USA when we visit there. Taking an empty suitcase inside another one is the norm for us. And I know lots of other Brits who do the same thing.
Hope this film will be out soon - the suspense is killing me!

it sucks that it is going to be limited release that means no one in canada will get to see it because this country sucks too

Yes, but the "limited release" tag may only be for the first couple of weeks. Things often get a general release shortly after the limited release in the case of smaller, independent films. The Hours did too I believe.

On movies.com it says that in the USA it will be a wide release, but a few months ago it said limited, so i guess they changed their mind.

Yup, I saw that too. Does anyone know when it's getting released in the UK? There's loads of dates up, but, as usual, nothing for the UK *sigh*... Or does anyone know when the trailer is likely to be up? Soon surely?

By small theatres i guess u mean just in a few theatres, but last time i heard its gonna be a wide realese, which means its gonna be playing in bigger theatres, and in most cities.

I have a good friend who is one of the grandchildren of Evelyn's and he called me last week to say the premiere is Sept. 15th in San Francisco. That's where Terry Ryan lives at this time. My book club is invited and we are ALL psyched!!

the limited release is to make it eligable for the oscars probably. Let's hope Julianne Moore can keep the buzz going and does lot's of interviews and so on. Then if there is an oscar nomination they push it for a wide release to make money.
