I was at the shoot today of this film b/c a friend is a crew member. Woody Harelson needs his trailer at the back of the building so he wont have to inhale pollution. He also needs to be escorted via car from his trailer to the front of the building, again because of polution. In a scene where he requires whiskey, clearly apple juice is used. organic juice wasnt enough for him, he needed purely filtered specialty juice to be purchased before the scene. he is quite nice, a great guy tho.
I was at the shoot too, because they are using the house right beside mine as the housethey will be living in, and if you wanna know where they are shooting, its in Oshawa, its bout an hour away from toronto
They shot some of the exterior scenes across the street from my house in Oshawa Ontario in august of 2004. 308 Nassau St, to be exact. It's an older neighbourhood, the houses being built in the '40s and '50s, so i guess it was a good choice of location. Because of bad weather, the shoot had to be extended a few days. Woody was really cool. He had no problems indulging some of the locals with autographs. Julianne Moore always seemed to disapear between scenes though. Hope that helps.
It was also shot in Thornhill Ontario, just outside of Toronto. I went by the set and saw and got Julianne Moore's Atuograph. Really sweet girl. I love how they are shooting so many movies in Canada (specifically Toronto). It's great to see.
And a scene at a bus stop was also shot in Paris, Ontario in July 2004. The local papers had writeups including how friendly Julianne Moore was toward onlookers.
Yeah hi i played a small part in the film i play betsy and everyone on the set was so nice especially woody when i first saw him he gave me a high five hes really sweet!!
My best friends brother, is Simon Reynolds who is in the movie. he said it was a great experience. I'm really exited for this to come out. It's such a talented cast, I think Trevor Morgan is a fonaminal actor, if any of you haven't seen Mean Creek go rent it right now it's amazing!
Yeah, Trevor Morgan is the best. After you rent Mean Creek, rent A Rumor of the Angels (I might be a tiny bit off on the title) It is one of my favorite movies. Since pretty much everyone in here was either on the set or know people who were, did any of you meet him? Just want to know if he is nice because he seems like it.
You're right on, Trevor is a pretty cool dude. I enjoyed getting to know him on set quite a bit. I agree-very talented. Thought I might let you know your assumptions were correct. Maybe now you can sleep at night.
can we talk about woody? while i admire much of his work (white men can't jump - the worst movie of all time notwithstanding - lol), and loved him on cheers, i wasn't impressed with his general attitude on the set on many occasions!
at a brief wrap gathering in the studio's parking lot, with cast, crew, producers, fireworks and wine, and director jane thanking everyone for a job well done from the top of the makeup trailer, woody was no where to be found! julianne was there! taking photos with the kids, thanking everyone herself for the wonderful experience, etc!
think woody could have joined us???? all his work to save the planet - but so little regard for the people on it! the kids especially! not to mention some of us parents! a pic, an autograph, a moment to say nice to meet you and a pleasure watching him work - which it was!
I can appreciate his own style and mindframe while the work is in progress, and we all made sure not to impose on his personal space! you don't expect everyone to be the same - julianne was quite cordial between takes, while woody stayed private and focused - and that was fine!
but after the words 'shoot wrap', the work is done! woody could've joined us for a few minutes outside! but no! off to his trailer and seclusion! save the planet, woody! save the planet!
ps. overall it was wonderful set to be around - cast, crew, makeup people, a.d.'s, everyone - they were all great! with so many kids in the cast, it wasn't easy! everyone did a great job!!!
You are wrong about Woody!...he is really a great guy...Im sorry he didn't stop by the say hello, but im sure he went to his trailor to focus on tommorows work or other personal problem that's none of other people business....
yeah i met trevor morgan a while back when he was in Uncle Nino and he was a real jerk. all he did was sit at his table and talk to his mommy and when we asked for an autograph he didn't even look up he kinda blindly scribbled his name. we tried to start a conversation with him cuz he looked kinda lonely and he just walked off so my friend and i were just like "mmk whatever" and went and hung out with his costars who were, by the way, complete sweethearts. i mean the point of the little get-together was for the stars to mix with the fans and be friendly and have fun and he was so anti-social...i think he is an amazing actor but his people skills need a little work. but oh well that was just my experience.
