Will this film be more widely released?

I'm going to Defiance to see it next week, but does anyone know if it will be released in many other places? I can't seem to find it anywhere else here in Ohio.

Thanks in advance!

I know that Shaker Square Cinema in Cleveland is currently playing it (I saw it-a great film that is very touching emotionally)...maybe it's playing in Columbus and Cincinnati as well.

Will there ever be a wide release? I live in Minneapolis and I have not seen it listed at any theaters here so far. I love Julianne Moore and usually even smaller independent films make it to Minneapolis, but I have yet to see this one.

I've started a petition for those who the film to be more widely distributed. We need to make our voices heard for the distributers to realise how badly we want to see the movie. You can't beat 'People Power'!
Email your name/town/country to me at [email protected] to be added to the list.

I am running this film at my movie theatre (Screenland) in Kansas City. I am one of 15 theatres in the country playing the film. Last weekend I did almost no business, just like the week before. (It is doing poor business all across the country). My wife and I watched the matinee along with my 7 customers for the show. We were astonished-it is a wonderful film. I sent an e-mail to my customer base imploring them to see the movie. A wonderful, thoughtful film. A "Thinking person's Cheaper by the Dozen". Today, we had 116 for the Saturday matinee! The emails are pouring in raving about this film. Get the word out to your local film orginazation and indeed-let's build an audience and send the message to Hollywood that we want more films like this.

Well done Butch! You have the right attitude (unlike some!). Evelyn would definitely have approved!

It's in Atlanta at the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema. Saw it tonight- a truly great film, and since it is about my generation, I can attest as to its authenticity of detail.
It's only in 1 theatre, though, and even though it's Saturday night, there were only 4 people in the house. It's gotten no press at all here. A real pity. I hope that word of mouth does the trick before they pull it for some violent pseudo-film that will make more money.
I hope this film makes it to all parts of the country, and other parts of the world, because its appeal is universal.

I heard that it lasted in Minneapolis for about a week and then was gone. I am so disappointed because the movie had such publicity. Why a movie would have such a short stay in a relative big market is beyond me. Guess I will have to wait for DVD.

It means that Revolution will pay for all of the theatrical distribution costs, and take all of the distribution profits, from all territories outside of Canada and US.

Great movie for the holidays!!!

Hooray, it's returning to the Boston area starting 12/30, at the Capitol Theatre in Arlington. I won't miss it this time.

It is currently at the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor (which is less than an hour north of the Michigan-Ohio border). We went tonight and there was a pretty decent crowd. The Michigan is our restored 1920's movie palace that runs a lot of the indie films.

It's apparently out on DVD in America sometime in March, I wanna say the 17th? I'll see if I can find the date again. There's not even a UK date as far as I know...

It may never come out here (UK) on DVD, so looks as though we'll have to import it! I've just changed my DVD player, and now find it won't play region 1 format! Doh!!!

I don't think the studio was aiming for a wide release, just a limited release, in case it earned enough buzz to garner some Awards.

I saw it the 3-4th week of its release (it lasted in San Diego, CA in 2 theaters, for two weeks), and it's an excellent film. I loved it, full of comedic moments, and heartfelt drama story arcs.

Julianne Moore should've at least received another Golden Globe nod. Perhaps the Academy Awards might give her a 'surprise' nod, as they did with Keisha Castle Hughes, who wasn't nominated for a Golden Globe.

But nonetheless, if this film goes without receving an awards, it doesn't matter. Can't wait for the DVD release.

I was really looking forward to seeing this film, since I'm a huge Julianne Moore fan, and have been watching out for it since hearing that it had a September release date. Well, it hasn't come at all yet to Vancouver, BC and I've heard it hasn't even played in Toronto or Montreal either. Such a shame, since it sounds like a really great movie and I was hoping Ms. Moore would get some nominations for this performance come awards-time.

Guess I'll have to wait for the DVD release also.

Cheers,
JUSTIN
