I read the book last year but didn't get to see the movie until today! It was lovely and moving and reminded me of my childhood - only Mumsy didn't handle it like Evelyn! Evelyn is/was a fantastic character and stands as an inspiration! So you can further support the project and find out all the stuff that had to be edited from the film to make it cohesive! There's more to the story than the movie!! Neither disappoints!
shareI also read the book before seeing the movie and they are both amazing! I could see my grandmother in Evelyn's character... they both remind me of her. I agree that in the book there is much more details and of Evelyn's writings. The movie left out somethings... but it is still a great film. To bad it didn't get a lot of recongation... if it hadn't been for Julianne Moore going on Oparh and talking about the film... i may never had read the book or even known about the movie. I Strongly recommand reading the book... it's worth!
