Two quick questions...

Firstly - at the end, it says that the last scene is the real Ryan kids, but I only see Betsy Ryan and Terry Ryan in the credits. Were the boys and other people in that scene the real kids as well?

Secondly - I was studying while this movie was on and missed what happened to Kelly Ryan's singing voice - I looked up just to see him sitting in a car, his throat covered in blood. What happened?

All in all, I quite enjoyed this movie. Very heartwarming. :) I did put down my homework finally to sit back and watch it.

As far as I know, at the end, everyone there were the real kids - but I don't know.

With regards to Kelly Ryan's singing voice, he got into a car accident - Evelyn walked away "with her voice" and he lost his crooning voice.

I loved this movie. What a breath of fresh air!!!

Yes, the real Ryan 'kids' were there for the last scene, which made it all the more emotive, I felt.

Kelly's car accident damaged his vocal chords and he 'lost' his singing voice, as Evelyn explains in the film. I really feel that reading the book before watching the film makes things much clearer. The film has had to cut a lot out and moves things along at a pace that makes you miss a lot of the finer detail.

Here's two quick answers:

I believe it was based on Betsy and Terry's book so they get the writing credits.

If you look closely at Kelly sitting in the car at the accident you can see a shard of glass sticking out of his neck.

Hope that helps!
