I used to live in Toledo,OH just down the river
from Defiance. I know that it's done all the time, but it's too bad that some or all of the
film couldn't have been shot in northwest Ohio.

This movie was shot right behind my house a summer or 2 back ago...
(I live in Richmond Hill, ON.)

I just saw this movie, it was fantastic. I am very interested in where it was shot in Toronto. You said in Richmond Hill...but where exactly. I am familiar with Th Holy Cross cemetary in Richmond Hill..is it around there??

The shooting in Richmond Hill was done on Roseview Ave. between Ruggles and Baker Aves., Just north of Major MacKenzie Dr.

My girlfriend and I also had the pleasure of smoking a couple of joints with Woody Harrelson, and are now owners of an autographed copy of Grass.

With the exception of a few very well-preserved old houses on Holgate Ave., and near the library, the town probably doesn't look anything it did in the 1950s. Which still doesn't explain why Canada would be a good stand-in for suburban, Eisenhower-era Ohio.
