'disturbing images' ??
what in this movie could possibly involve "disturbing images"?
shareprobably the scene that disturbed me the most was the blood, milk and glass when Kelly pushed her onto the floor. Not very good with blood.
Cathy :O(
I find iron lungs to be disturbing, actually.
shareThere's also a scene with soiled diapers that some might find disturbing.
shareYeah, this is stupid, but I am reminded of the Scatterbrain song, "Drunken Milkman" off thier first record. It's short:
Drunken milkmen driving drunk,
Swerves on the curves.
Chevrolet heads his way...
A flash - A crash!
Milk and blood, blood and milk
Family of four, family no more.
Drunken milkmen driving drunk.
I agree with the disturbing image being the milk and blood all over the floor when Evelyn fell, but I think you could definitely classify them briefly showing Kelley right after the accident, where there was really a lot of blood. Not that it was horribly gory or anything, he was just really covered in it.
Also, it may not be a disturibing image, but it was kind of a disturbing/sad scene when Kelly is drunk and yelling about the baseball team and then starts screaming about the freezer and hits it with I think a frying pan.
midge, i LOVE Scatterbrain. They use to play at a rock n roll club in my area about 15 years ago. We got to hang out with them everytime they came to town (in a non groupie way). Although I loathed the one roadie because he kept calling me "teeny bopper". Drunken Milkman is one of my faves.

A number of people are very VERY squeamish at the sight of blood and while not presented in the usual graphic slasher-film way, it would still be considered disturbing to show a character bloodied up.
Myself, personally, was a trifle grossed-out by the soiled diaper episode.
"If you don't know the answer -change the question."
I was uber grossed out by the soiled diaper. When she picked him up, I distinctly remember squealing to myself, "Eww, poopie!"
I guess I should probably get over that if I expect to be a mother one day. Ick.
And I think the episode with Kelly shoving Evelyn with the milk and blood would greatly upset a younger viewer. It upset me a lot.

Woody Harrelson's character is very scary and intimidating throughout the movie, and you can actually feel the tension building up inside him. That made me really uncomfortable, because you didn't know when he was going to explode with anger.
Mommy to two little monsters
While I didn't go, "Ew, gross" in the poopy diaper scene, I did think, "I hope the apron the mom wrapped around the baby's bottom isn't the same one she later wears when cooking dinner."
The disturbing scenes involve the dad's anger and manipulation. It's an essential part of the storyline, and I happily recommend this movie to those who despise gory movies. It's not blood for blood's sake. It has a very real and legit feel to it.

Don't believe everything you think.
That blood and milk scene was a perfect symbol for such a disturbed family situation
think about it, the wholesome white milk, and the profuse human blood on the living room floor, the mother prone face down, with the whole family witness, caused by the father figure. perhaps one of the greatest theatrical scenes ever put on tape.
The most disturbing milkman in movie history.
shareHere’s a disturbing image that’s been stuck in my brain for more than 70 years: My 12-year-old sister leaping onto my father’s back as he was beating my mother, screaming “Stop! Stop it, you b*****d!” as she pounded on him with her little fists. A couple of my many siblings then joined in and together they pulled him off, ending the brutality. Some might find the similar scene in the movie disturbing, but I was relieved to see one of the all-too-wimpy Ryan kids finally have the gumption to take some decisive action.
shareWhy are they wimpy?
"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"
