what the f___. Another bloody remake of tv/movies that are better left untouched. Dawn of the Dead(1978), Freaky Friday(1977)

I'm sure this movie may have been watchable, if some of the original cast members atlease made cameo appearances. Who knows I may watch it...

You are comparing Dawn of the Dead to Freaky Friday. You should die.

I'm looking forward to seeing fresh faces.
You say Michael Landon would have wanted some sort of reunion. Uhh, what about what Laura Ingalls Wilder would've wanted? The original series was NOT faithful to her work at all. I'm a huge fan, but also a huge critic of the original series.
I loved the original series and the actors who played the parts, but I'm hoping this series will be a more faithful rendition of the books.

Hope :)

No it's NO REUNION....Just an attempt to remake one of the best and underrated shows in tv history...I will watch it out of curiousity but it will NEVER top the original...I mean does anything really?

reply

UNDER-RATED???

I Don't think the series was ever underrated. It ran for a decade, and was hugely popular all over the world!

This new series, no matter how faithful to the books, has a very hard act to follow.

Thank God it's not a reunion! I would love to see a version of this material that is not some goofy idealized version of what Michael Landon wanted his life to be, but something closer to what Mrs. Wilder's life was really like. I will be interesting to see how it works. BTW, when is this thing supposed to air? It says 2004, but I only just heard this was coming out.

I'm happy to see they are making a new version of LHOTP.
The original series was almost completely inaccurate.

that's one of the main reasons that they are remaking the show/movie. A lot of the stuff from the book was changed, and it didnt need to be becuase the books were really good too.

reply

Actually it's a remake of the series, not the books. If you want a movie that's true to the books you need to watch the one with Meredith Monroe as Laura Ingalls Wilder

It's a good rendition of the books, but I love the series too.

They just advertised it tonight on TV. It is supposed to air on Saturday March 26th, 2005 on ABC at 8:00/7:00 central.

reply

I doesn't seem to be a remake of the series AT ALL!
I just finished watching it, and most of the events that happen in it are taken right from the books.

They obviously went back to the books to make this one.
