Sky High Trilogy (Alternate Universe)

Skyhigh is an excellent film. It is lacking, however. Skyhigh had trilogy or television series written all over it but the writers did not capitalize. The characterization was simple and moral lessons recycled. Skyhigh had a deep political potential that was left untapped thus leaving me craving more. Not like how a television series has you looking forward to next week but in the sense of feeling unfulfilled. Skyhigh could have been a super hero high school movie trilogy that could have gone down in the ages as an overlooked cult classic because lord knows The Academy would not give this film the recognition it would deserve.

Starting with the basic character relationships. Internet plebs and avid media connosieurs will understand the importance of relationships of media icons. These relationships can have us understanding dynamic within ourselves. Skyhigh mirrors comic books which in essence is a good thing considering it's heritage in the medium, however, it also succumbs to the unforgiving grasp of the media. Skyhigh viewers are left watching Brangelina on screen instead of a cosmically crafted relationship. This is fantasy folks where is the imagination?

Remaking a single film into a trilogy would be tasking and expensive. Kurt Russel has aged as well as Bruce Campbell. These two characters were not only defining but ideal for the roles they performed in. I am willing to bite the bullet and cast others unless I'm wrong and those two are looking better than ever (please oh please).

The reason for the reboot is simple. Will got with the wrong girl! He should have been with the Goth girl the entire time!

but Layla would have her weed friends grab the goth-girl, yank her up high in the air and drop the goth-girl butt first on some thorny bushes.

That could be interesting. I mean, I did like the original, but when I was a kid and didn't care how stereotypical/corny parts of it were. I haven't seen it for a few years, though.

Surprised there was not a sequel. It seems like it made its budget back.
