why were they all messing with freck?

in his last scene before he committed suicide, why were they being so mean to him? weren't they supposed to be his friends? that just really confused me.

I think they were being mean because of the Substance-D psychosis. I think...

Somebody broke that!

that makes sense i guess. i interpreted that scene completely differently. i thought barris and luckman were pretending to go crazy and try to kill each other to freak out freck who was already hyper paranoid. but maybe it was the substance D and they weren't pretending.

Cruel, maybe. But hardly all that serious. Freck's problems were obviously more serious than his friends goofing on him one afternoon.

Did i miss something, he did not ACTUALLY commit suicide although he did try hard.
He was seen at New Path meeting, towards the end of the movie, he was the bald one.
